Your
Responsibilities Checklist
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Your admission is conditional. We expect you to continue
to perform at or above the level you presented for admission.
If your performance declines, including withdrawing from a
class, admission may be rescinded.
VISIT UNC CHARLOTTE.
If you have not done so already, please visit
us for a daily tour and information session, or better yet, plan to
attend one of our Explore UNC Charlotte open house dates. See
Tour Information
for complete details.
You should also view the Admissions Calendar and
record all important events in your personal datebook. Also
you can view how UNC Charlotte ranks among other universities on
the University Profile page.
REPORT ANY CHANGES.
Change of address, change of major, change of
plans, changes in your schedule, etc., must be reported to
Undergraduate Admissions in writing immediately. Our address is:
Undergraduate Admissions - Cato Hall, UNC Charlotte, 9201
University City Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28223-0001 or email: unccadm@uncc.edu
IF YOU PLAN TO APPLY
FOR NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID, DO SO BEFORE
APRIL 1st.
For loans, federal grants, work-study jobs on campus, etc., the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only form
required. The easiest way is the FAFSA on-line: http://fafsa.ed.gov/ You can
also obtain a FAFSA from your school counselor beginning in December
of your senior year. Your family will need to prepare your federal
tax return before you apply for aid. Submit the FAFSA after January
1, but before April 1, our priority deadline.
LIVE ON CAMPUS;
APPLY EARLY FOR FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED ASSIGNMENT.
We encourage all freshmen to live on campus, and
most will. Our data indicates those who do will make better grades
and have a richer experience in the first year than those who
do not. If you indicated on your application that you wanted housing
information, a housing brochure will be mailed to you within two
weeks of your acceptance. Visit the web site of the Office
of Housing and Residence Life for information
about applying for campus housing. Applications for campus
housing must be completed online.
TELL US YOUR PLANS MAY 1st.
In mid-April you will receive a letter asking you whether
or not you intend to
enroll
with us in the fall. Even though
you may have already decided, we ask that you wait until that
point to tell us. However, if you decide that you will not enroll,
we ask that you inform Undergraduate Admissions in
writing right away. You should notify all colleges that admitted
you of your final plans as soon as you decide, but not later
than May 1. We hope your choice is UNC Charlotte!
REGISTER FOR FALL CLASSES IN JUNE.
In mid-March the Dean of Students
Office will send you information
about Student Orientation Advising Registration (SOAR) on-campus sessions. The two-day sessions are held throughout
the month of June and into July. There is also a
concurrent program for parents. You will register for your fall
classes at this time so mark your calendar and make your plans to
attend now! Please visit the
SOAR website for complete
information and an
online registration form (available approximately mid-March).
SEND IN YOUR FINAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT BY JUNE 30th
This is your responsibility. Ask your school counselor to send
Undergraduate Admissions your final high school transcript right
after graduation. We will check it over to make sure you have
kept up the good work!
COMPLETE YOUR IMMUNIZATIONS FORM.
Please download an Immunizations
Form
that you must complete and return to Student Health Services prior to
the start of classes. Immunization information that may be on your high school
transcript is not able to be transferred to Student Health Services.
